This evening class offers a focused exploration of master copying as a powerful method for developing both technical skill and artistic understanding.

Working from a painting or drawing of your choice, you will study the approaches of great master artists—gaining insight into composition, colour harmony, and the handling of materials. Through careful observation and guided practice, you’ll learn how these elements come together to create compelling and resolved works.

Participants are invited to select a master work that resonates with their interests, whether in landscape, portraiture, still life, or figure. Throughout the course, you will receive tailored guidance to help you interpret and replicate key aspects of the original, from structure and proportion to technique and colour.
Unlike working from a live model, master copying allows for a more considered pace, encouraging close study and thoughtful

decision-making. Regular feedback will support your progress in a relaxed, studio-based environment.
Stephanie will be available ahead of the course to advise on your chosen image and ensure it is well suited to your goals.
Suitable for all levels, this class provides an enriching opportunity to deepen your practice through the study of great works.
